Erma's Herbs

The ascension of the sun hadn't yet met it's apex yet, as the breeze instilled a feeling of pleasantness within the air as the two walked onward. Rickter and Telion had talked quite a bit in the short time they were together, and even then he still felt like he barely knew the woman next to him. However, it was whenever the reached the southwestern gates of Loras, when they were both stopped by the guard there, as they were quick to question the two... and quickly speculate that the wolf had a scheme up his sleeve. "You there! Aren't you supposed to be meetin' with the guard captain?!" One of the uniformed men inquired as he intercepted them, stepping in front of Rickter as he and the blonde bard came to a halt.
"I am." The wolf responded in turn with a stern look at the guard, his expression still unchanged even now, as the watchman raised an eyebrow at the reply.
"So far as I know, Captain's said yer not allowed to leave Loras."
"Did he also tell you that Rickter's working with me?" Telion interjected with a tilt of her head, her curious eyes narrowed sharly on the guard as she waited for an answer.
"Er... No he didn't actually." The guard admitted with a bit of apprehension in his tone.
"Then you also don't know that Erma's got a job for us! Rickter here is my bodyguard while I'm out there, so if you refuse to let him go, then you're refusing me a job." The blonde quickly explained with a tactful tone of voice, leading Ricky to look down at her with a pucker in surprise. Even the guardsman looked perplexed by the stipulations she brought up, to which the bard also added, "And if Erma doesn't get her herbs, then how will she be able to treat anybody when she's out of poultices?"
"Okay okay, fine Telion!" The guard raised his hands in surrender, waving them to gesture that he'd gotten the idea. The bard couldn't help but smile then, with a hint of a giggle in victory, while the guard himself looked at the wolf once more. "If you're really her bodyguard as she says, then you better damn well take good care of her while you're out there. Got it?"
"That's the plan." The wolf assured him plainly still with a stoic expression, giving the guard reason to pause before giving an amused grunt. Finally, he moved aside after a moment, allowing them to pass onward through the gates, to which Telion shot him a grin before nodding to lead the way. The wolf himself looked down at the ground first, considering the off chances that they might run into trouble out in the wilderness, with him as a 'bodyguard' though Rickter would see to it Telion remained safe. He did, after all, owe her for the instrument he broke, therefore the worst thing he could repay her with was his life... if they were put into such a highly risky situation that is.
"Rickter! Come on!" The wolf's eyes lifted to gaze forward onto Telion next, as she delicately twisted around to walk backward while keeping an eye on him. Determined to carry out the role she'd practically given him, he nodded in turn and started after her, following along as they both walked out onto the road outside of Loras. They were presumably in the wilderness now and, already, Rickter felt alert and wary of the quiet surroundings of the grassy fields. To his right, he could still see the western mountains of course, while further out south there were clusters of trees scattered across the plains. "We'll want to head there to find the flowers. You up for a hike?"
Rickter looked from the distant trees down towards his partner next, his stoic expression still there when he answered her in turn. "So long as we're back in time for dinner." Telion feigned a gasp before laughing shortly, which led him to raise an eyebrow at her in response.
"Don't worry, we get back before sundown, and dinner can be on me!" She teased before picking up the pace, leaving only a moment to catch the grin she held, before moving a few feet ahead of Rickter on the path. "Come on, we'll follow the road for about a mile. After that, it's off the beaten path and into the real wilderness!" She encouraged with almost a light jog in her step, giving Ricky cause to pick up his pace as well, albeit a brisk stride now just to keep up with her.
